CULTURAL ACTIVITIES

The development of human personality is multi-dimensional. The human mind which gets thoroughly exhausted because of the daily hectic work, always need a space to relax and ease out.  The overall personality of a student would be achieved not only through the academic activity but it requires ventilating the hidden talents to attain a total personality. The college provides ample opportunities for the students to project the hidden talent. The Department of Cultural Activities is undertaking to discover the hidden talents in the students and providing a platform for the exposure of their talents in various facets like drama, skits, mono action, mimicry, mime, singing-classical, semi classical, folk, solo and group singing with orchestra, instrumental music,  painting photography, rangoli, elocution, debate, public address, essay writing and so on.
Dayanand College of Law’s campus life has been steadily moulded over many years by its vibrant student body, as diverse and talented, giving birth to dynamic and multi faceted campus culture ensuing a campus bursting with energy and activity.
With innumerable campus events and programmes, there is never a dull moment in Dayanand College of Law. Its events calendar is always packed with a steady line of activities through every academic year, ranging from celebrations of diversity, our intra college festivities, a string of celebrations during the Annual four day long Social Gathering, cultural packed with literary and athletic extra vaganza of epic proportions.

Aims and Objectives

  • To identify and strengthen the hidden talents in the students.
  • To develop healthy competitive spirit among the students.
  • To develop spirit of fraternity and patriotism among the students.
  • To provide a platform for the holistic development of the students

Online Singing Competition

The college has organized online singing (Devotional and patriotic song) competition on 14 July 2021 Microsoft teams app. 25 students are participated in this completion. Dr. Sandip Jagdale and Prof. Sharad Pahade from Music department of Dayanand college of Law, Latur were invited as Judges of this competion.
Objectives:-
1. To develop their singing voices
2. to develop awareness of cultural event
3. To express the meaning of songs
4. To inculcate the patriotic aspirations among students
5. To rest students abilities for their good performers and help them to improve.
Outcome:-
A singing competition is an event where talented singers display their skills and compete to win. This competition is more valuable event for integrate the students on virtual platform and shoe their skills, talent and courage.

Program Marathi Bhasha Din

The college has organised a program on “Marathi Bolibhasha” on 28th January 2021. Dr. Asha Munde , Principal and H.O.D. Marathi Dept. SMT. Sushiladevi Deshmukh Mahila Mahavidyalya, Latur to be the chief speaker of the program. She has addressed to inspire and enlighten the students on the said topic.
Objectives
1. To recognise and honour the greatness of Marathi literature and Marathi Bolibhasha.
2. To celebrate Marathi Bolibhasha Din
3. To increase the Marathi in daily life.
Outcome
To promote Marathi literature in this day.
Marathi Bhasha Din is celebrated on Feb. 27 to Mark the birth anniversary of notable Marathi literature Vishnu Waman shirwadkar , who was popularly known as ‘Kusumagraj. Resource person of this program explained how to use Marathi Bolibhasha in various region of Maharashtra. She also highlighted on conservation of Marathi bolibhasha in today’s era of L.P.G.

Webinar on Making of Indian Constitution

Cultural department of the college has organized webinar on “Dr. B.R. Ambedkar’s contribution in making of Indian Constitution” on 3rd July 2021. Dr. Mahadev Gavhane , Principal, Rajarshi Shahu college (Autonomous), Latur. Became the chief speaker of this webinar.
Objective:- 1. To provide a platform to share thoughts and perspectives of Dr. B.R. ambedkar on Nation development.
2.To understand the vision and mission of Dr. Ambedkar for socio-economic, political and human rights reforms.
3 To discuss his contributions towards social emanicipation and economic development of weaker sections of society in nations building.
Outcome-1:- Dr. Mahadev Gavahane enlightened the participants about the contribution of Dr. B.R. Ambedkar made the Indian constitution based on equality in all respects.
2. He also explained that how He was made the Indian constitution with the help of various historical facts and figures.
3. The queries raised by participants were also answered by Dr. Mahadev Gavhane

Youth Festival 2019-20

The Youth Festival of S.R.T.M. University 2019-20 in joint coordination with Late Vyankatrao Deshmukh College, Babhalkgaon Dist. Latur was organized from 21 Sept. 2019 to 24 Sept. 2019.  The Cultural Department headed by Dr. P.G. Shinde nominated twenty-five students from the college to participate in various competitions.  Students were accompanied by Dr. P.G. Shinde, Dr. S.A. Mahajan & Ad. Unnati Jadhav. Dayanand College of Law students won the 1st prize for Kawwali and the 2nd prize for Powada and Folk Orchestra.

Annual Social Gathering – 13th to 15th Feb. 2020 ‘Dhurala’

Annual social gathering was conducted from 13th to 15thFeb. 2020. Many cultural activities including Dance, Singing, Skits, One act play, Traditional day, college day, Rangoli, Mehandi competition, Twins day, Fun fare and so on. Students participated in 31 activities.
Dr. D.N. Mishra, Director, SRTMUN, sub-centre Latur graciously consented to be the chief guest and delivered the inaugural address to inspire the students and distributed prizes to the cultural students.

Other Cultural Activities:-

1.Miss. Apeksha Dake and Patel Issak have participated in Fourth Inter University National Qawwali Competition organized by Indira Gandhi National Tribal University, Amarkantak (MP) on 6th to 7th Nov. 2019.
2.The College has organized Debate Competition in collaboration with Bank of Baroda on 10th Feb. 2020. To sensitize the students on women issues and to inculcate the moral values the competition is organized. Miss. Gauri Chate LLB II secured First prize, Bismilla Shaikh LLB III secured Second Prize, Kamble Krishna, BSL V secured third prize.
3.JadhavVasudev and Sayyad Bismilla has participated in the Debate competition organized by Science college, Nanded on 22.01.2020
4.Birajdar Someshwar and Shinde Yogeshwar have participated in state level Inter collegiate Quiz competition organized by Dr. Karmavir Vidyaprabodani, Pune on 16 to 18 Jan., 2020.
5.Birajdar shubham and chate Guari has participated state level debate competition organized by Mahatma Basweshwar College, Latur on 7th Feb. 2020.

‘Sahayog - 2018’ Youth Festival

The youth festival of SRTM University 2018-2019 was organized by Indira college of Pharmacy, Vishunupuri, Nanded from 24th Sept. 2018 to 27th Sept. 2018.
The department of cultural activities selected Twenty Two students from the college to participate in folk dance, Skit, Mime, group singing (western and Indian), Rangoli, spot photography, Installation, Lavni, Debate and Elocution, Poster making, Kolaz. Students participated in 17 activities.

Prize Winner:-

The college received following five prizes in the youth festival
1. Miss. Rachna Waghmare, BSL fifth year student received First (Gold) prize in Lavni
2. Powada (Ballad) (group performance) received second prize (Silver)
3. Installation (group performance) received Second (silver) prize
4. Folk Orchestra (group performance) received Third (Bronze) prize
5. Western singing (group performance) received Third (Bronze) Prize

Annual Gathering – 15th to 17th Feb 2018

Annual Gathering was conducted from 15th to 17th Feb 2018. Many cultural activities including Dance, Singing, Skits, One Act Play, Traditional Day, College Day, Rangoli, Mehandi competitions, Twins day, Fun fare and so on were conducted refreshing the students and filling them with Joy, enjoyment and enthusiasm. Mr. Avinash Bharti, Social Activist and poet from Aurangabad was invited as a Guest and Mr. G. Shrikant Collector, Latur was Chief Guest in inaugurated the session and Shri Dhiraj Deshmukh, Member Zilla Parishad was Chief Guest for Prize Distribution Ceremony. Dr. S.T. Suryawanshi Co-ordinated the Program.

Youth Festival 2017-18

The youth festival of S.R.T.M. University 2017-18 was organized by Gramin College of Engineering, Vishnupuri, Nanded from 23rd Sept. 2017 to 26th Sept. 2017.  The Cultural Department headed by Dr. P.G. Shinde nominated nineteen students from the college to participate in various competitions.  Students were accompanied by Dr. P.G. Shinde, Dr. S.A. Mahajan, Dr. P.P. Nathani and Dr. S.D. Panchal.

Annual social gathering was conducted from 7th to 9th Feb. 2017. Many cultural activities including Dance, Singing, Skits, One act play, Traditional day, college day, Rangoli, Mehandi competition, Twins day, Fun fare and so on. 30 Students participated in Various 22 activities.
Mr. Shrirang Reddy, Humorous comic poetry, graciously consented to be the chief guest and delivered the inaugural address to inspire the students and also distributed prizes to the cultural and meritorious students.

Other Cultural Activities:-

1. Mr. Vibhute Suraj Dashrat participated in divisional level open elocution Competition organized on the occasion of Lokshahi Annabhau Sathe 96th Jayanti by Janhitaya Bahuudessiya Sevabhavi Sansth and Satyam bahuudessiya sevabhavi sanstha latur (MH) on 20 Augest 2016.

‘Matoshri - 2016’ Youth Festival

The youth festival of SRTM University 2016-2017 was organized by Matoshri pratishtan college of Engineering, Jijaunagar, Khupasarwadi, Nanded date 29th Sept. to 2nd Oct. 2016.
The department of cultural activities selected Thirteen students from the college to participate in folk dance, Skit, Mime, group singing (western and Indian), Rangoli, spot photography, Installation, Lavni, Debate and Elocution, Poster making, Kolaz. Students participated in 11 activities.

Prize Winner:-

In Folk dance activity a group from college awarded with Second prize.
Mr. More Hanumant bagged Silver (second prize) in Photography.
